About CMA
The Cement ManufacturersAssociation (CMA) is the apex representative body of large cement manufacturers in India. The Association was established in 1961 and is a registered body under the Societies Registration Act XX I of 1860. CMA is a unique platform as it represents both the private and the public sector cement companies. CMA’s activities are focussed on policy advocacy and government outreach with the objective of providing members a consolidated voice on environmental, logistics, taxation, alternate fuels, sustainability, innovation, waste consumption, etc., as well as representing the Indian Cement Industry at national and international forums. The Association has regularly been highlighting issues pertinent to Industry, both at the Central and state government level.
CMA has been particularly acti`ve in the areas of Energy Efficiency, development of Environment friendly Emission Standards, Sustainability, Mines & Mineral and promotion of Techno economically superior cement concrete roads. It is engaged with BEE to facilitate implementation of Perform, Achieve and Trade (PAT) Scheme and is partnering with other stakeholders towards increasing AFR Usage in Cement Industry.
CMA Conferences and Workshops focus on issues critical to Cement Industry as well as imperatives for creating a sustainable future in India. CMA has also joined hands with World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), Geneva, as a Communication Partner for the Cement Sustainability Initiative (CSI) in India.
