Joined Tata Motors, Pune as a Graduate Engineer Trainee on 2nd August 1974. Started career as Manufacturing Incharge of various Auto components in Machine Shop at Pune Plant.
Moved on to setting up green field projects for manufacturing of Front Axle & Rear Axle machined components and assemblies for Medium & Heavy Commercial vehicles in Pune.
Was in-charge of Axles for heavy duty vehicles till 1992.
In 1992 was given charge of establishing body shop and paint shop processes for Pick-ups and MUVs and LCV cabs till 1999.
Additional charge of the trim lines and chassis lines was given from 2000 onwards, and finally became overall Manufacturing Incharge of MUVs, Pick Ups and Light Commercial vehicles at Pune from 2003 onwards.
Later in 2005 was transferred to Jamshedpur Plant as Dy. Gen Mgr. (Auto Production), as Head Manufacturing & took over as operations Head in Jsr Plant in 2005.
Took over as Plant Head of Jamshedpur plant on 1st July 2007 to 2010.
From 6th Sept 2010 was given charge of Sr V P (Mfg Operations) CVBU till June 2012.
w.e.f. 21st June 2012 appointed as Executive Director ( Quality ), Tata Motors.
