Introduction

The building sector in India is growing at a rapid pace and contributing immensely to the growth of the National economy. The sector has embraced sustainable design & construction practices in the past decade and enabled India to be in the International map of green buildings and built environment.

Indian Green Building Council has facilitated 3,356 green building projects with a footprint of over 3.12 Billion Sq.ft (as on 30.09.2015).

To further advance green building movement in the country, Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) is organising Green Building Congress 2015, an International Conference & Exhibition on Green Buildings and Built Environment from 19 - 21 November 2015, at Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.

Smart cities are assuming importance all over the country. Smart cities should also be Green and address the health of their citizen.

Hence the theme of Green Building Congress 2015 is Green, Smart and Healthy Cities. This event is India's flagship event on Green Buildings and Green Built Environment.

The event is being held in partnership with Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, Government of India and Forests & Environment Department, Government of Gujarat.
