V.Manjunath is an innovation and energy conservation expert and an environment conservation enthusiast. This expertise comes from his Mechanical educational background and more than twenty five years of work experience in the field of HVAC – from designing of innovative, energy efficient products to development of India standards. He has played a key role in bringing sustainability standards and certification for various products in India.
His expertise in implementation of Stage gate system for introduction of new products & services has yielded into introduction various new products and services in Indian market. He is a strong believer that India is innovation hub and innovativeness of India is unparalleled to any others in the world.
With his deep understanding on Indian conditions and consumer expectations, currently working with Underwriters Laboratories Inc., Manjunath is involved in spreading UL’s safety mission across the region through establishment of Quality ecosystem starting from Safety, Performance, sustainability and Reliability Standards, and conformance mechanism. He has been spearheading the development of standards and specification for India in varied fields and segments. Manjunath has been one of the core committee members of ISHRAE-RAMA standards committee in development of Liquid chiller units, VRF air conditioning systems, Indoor Environment Quality etc., for Indian market. As an executive board member of CII - IGBC and GPSC, he has been instrumental in bringing out GreenPro standards and certification. He is also member of various technical committees in capacity of convener and member of some of the technical committees of Bureau of Indian Standards for development of new standards / review of the current standards. With vast experience and being a qualified Energy Manager, Manjunath has been a key member of various technical committees of BEE. Moving beyond HVAC, he spearheaded the development of India standard and specification for off-grid photovoltaic system as Principal Secretariat of MNRE’s standards development committee under Jawaharlal Nehru National Solar Mission. His association with regulators in Middle East has helped in development of various programs in the area of safety, energy efficiency and adoption of standards.
