Purvez joined Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd. (G&B) (one of the largest engineering Companies in India) in 1983 and held various offices until assuming charge as General Manager – Finance in 1993 with the responsibility of setting up the finance organization of the new Joint Venture Company - Godrej-GE Appliances limited. In January 2001, he was appointed as Executive Vice President – Finance of Godrej Appliances Ltd.
Purvez was instrumental in the development of computerized accounting systems, financial planning, cashflow management, trade finance and new venture appraisals. As a part of the Senior Management team of Godrej Appliances, he played an integral role in the strategic decision making process and the conduct of the business operations.
In April 2006, in view of possessing a “big picture’ perspective, being an experienced leader having strong development and financial background, the multi-functional exposure, General Management skills and solid business understanding, Purvez was vested with the overall responsibility to take over as Head of the Construction Division of G&B and designated as the Chief Operating Officer of the Division.
Since July 2013, Purvez has moved to Corporate role as the Chief Financial Officer of the Company.
Born in 1956 in Mumbai India, Purvez is a Graduate in Commerce and Law from Bombay University, a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and an Associate member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India.
Purvez has a passion for social service and teaching. He is also a member of the Theosophical Society, a worldwide body whose primary object is Universal Brotherhood based on realization that life, in all its diverse forms, human and non-human, is indivisibly One.
