Shri D.K.Banerjee after achieving National Scholar in 1976 School Leaving Examination, completed his graduation in Civil Engineering with Honors in 1981 from Indian Institute of Engineering Science & Technology, Shibpur formerly known as Bengal Engineering College, Shibpur. He had also undergone Operation Management Course from Operation Research Society of India. He is conferred with Chartered Engineer by the Institution of Engineers, India. After working in Bridge & Roof in Salt Lake Stadium construction and Simon Carves (I) Limited, designing 2 x 210 MW TPP, he joined LIC of India in the Year 1985 as Asst. Engineer (Structure) as a direct recruit and worked at various offices of the corporation at Kolkata, Kanpur, Cuttack, Bhopal and Central Office. As Chief Engineer he had dual charge of Eastern Zonal Office, Kolkata & East Central Zonal Office, Patna for one year. He has handled various projects of large magnitude like Housing Projects at Cuttack, Kolkata, Divisional Office Buildings Sambalpur, Bhopal, Zonal Training Centres at Kolkata, Bhopal and Modernisation of Zonal/ Divisional Offices in Kolkata, Patna. He also handled overseas Arbitration Matters in Mauritius.
