Primarily responsible for the international offices and operations for The IAPMO Group, Megan Lehtonen is the Sr. VP of International Development. The IAPMO mission is to lead the effort in water and energy conservation practices on a global level, while protecting health and safety through effective codes and standards. With a strong belief that the industry, as deliverers of water, will have a major impact on the global water crisis from the ground up, Megan is dedicated to expanding IAPMO's mission in countries across the globe and has been recently appointed to develop and manage IAPMO's Philanthropic Foundation: The International Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Foundation: www.IWSH.org Megan is also responsible for directing the Water For Indonesia Now initiative, focusing on the standardization of plumbing systems within Indonesia. Her team, with support from the U.S. Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration, and USAID Standards Alliance Programs, worked in partnership with the National Standard Agency of Indonesia (BSN) in the development of a Uniform National Plumbing Standard - SNI: 8153 will impact generations of Indonesians through enhanced systems. The EPA presented Megan with an outstanding achievement award in March 2009 for contribution to environmental education. Megan has been featured in numerous publications, along with being recently honored by Contractor Magazine as one of the most influential women in the industry.
