Mr. Jaishankar joined Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd (TKM) in 1998 with an experience of 15 years in automobile industries like Mahindra & Mahindra, Pal Peugoet.
He graduated in Mechanical Engineering from Annamalai University, Chennai. He worked in various capacities in the field Production Planning, Production and Logistics.
Mr. Jaishankar started his career in production and moved to Purchase field from 1995. He took up his assignment in Toyota Kirloskar Motor as Manager of Purchase department mainly handling sourcing, pricing, Cost planning, supplier production preparation and cost reduction activities.
He became General Manager for Purchase division of Toyota Kirloskar Private Motor Ltd. on Jan. 2, 2006.
Indian Automobile is growing rapidly, and Toyota would like to participate in this growth. To focus and give impetus, he was tranfered as Vice-president projects, in Feb 2008, with responsibilit of erecting and commissioning of 2nd plant. From 12-June-2009 additional responsibilities of Human Resource was added to his potfolio.
He became Senior Vice President on 27th Jan 2011 with additional responsibilities of HR, Business Planning, Information Systems, Product Design and Development and Administration divisions
He became Director & Executive Vice President on Jan 2013 heading commercial divisions , which includes HR, Finance, Imformation System, Legal and corporate goverance.
He was promoted as Deputy Managing Director Commercial from January 2015.
In April 2016, his responsibility was changed to Purchasing, Product Design development,and Quality Assurance.
Born in Chennai, India, in 1959, Mr. Jaishankar's favorite pastimes include reading, and playing Golf of late. He and his wife (Lakshmi Jaishankar) have one daughter Sneha Jaishankar.
