K V Mahidhar heads the cost management activities of the CII Sohrabji Godrej Green Business Centre (CII Godrej GBC) at Hyderabad.
A Mechanical engineer by education, Mahidhar has a Post Graduate degree from Guindy College of Engineering, Anna University, Chennai. Mahidhar joined CII in 1991.
CII has formed the TCM division under his aegis way back in 2000. During the last 10 years he has been working on costing and cost management assignments for various sectors of industry. He facilitated more than 50 units in streamlining their cost management systems and had been a faculty for more than 75 cost management training sessions across country
He is also actively involved in developing CII TCM Maturity Model – to rate and assess the levels of maturity in their cost management systems and to develop a road map to further improve the cost management systems
His evaluation perspective in the Maturity Model is risk management, process improvements, cost management systems, Target costing and New product development
Besides, Mahidhar has also conducted the energy conservation norms study in the paper industry which attracted tremendous attention from all the stakeholders. The project involved developing norms as well as measures for achieving the norms covering the processing sections as well as utilities in a paper plant. He was also involved in developing energy conservation case study booklets in various industrial sectors such as Cement, Fertilizer, Pulp & Paper and Sugar sectors.
With his experience in CII of being involved in more than 300 energy audits he had been a faculty for more than 100 training programs in areas of energy.
He was also involved in several energy efficiency projects assisted by World Bank, UNDP and ADB. Through these projects he also got exposure to the international practices in foundry and pulp & paper sectors
