Mr. Mittal joined IndiGo in October 2004 and is responsible for financial planning, taxation, accounting and financial reporting.
He has vast experience in setting up and operation of low cost airline. He was a part of the core team at IndiGo to develop strategy for the launch of the domestic LCC-airline, where he created a comprehensive and robust financial model for low cost airlines. Mr. Mittal has been instrumental in setting up IndiGo's finance function, its processes and establishing highly motivating and professional team. Recently, he has successfully lead IndiGo IPO, biggest in the Aviation history.
Prior to joining IndiGo Mr. Mittal was a project manager at InterGlobe responsible for the project- IndiGo. Previously Mr. Mittal worked for Royal Airways as Revenue and MIS manager and was responsible for revenue auditing and analysis. Prior to joining Royal Airways Mr. Mittal worked with DLF Universal as Deputy Manager – Accounts and was responsible for accounting procedures, taxation compliance and capital management. Mr. Mittal has started his career with Assurance function of Ernst and Young.
Mr. Mittal holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Hansraj College, Delhi University and is a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of chartered accountants of India. Mr. Mittal is also a graduate of cost accountancy from the Institute of cost and work accountants of India
